Custom Roman Shade! Labor Only

Beautify your space with a custom roman shade! You provide your favorite fabric and measurements and I sew your shade!

@ Linen and Lace Fabric Boutique

♥ How it Works ♥

1A. You email me with your window measurements and I provide you with a price quote and how many yards of fabric to purchase and send to me.

1B. You can choose from one of our many fabrics and order from a listing right from our shop.

♥ Quote Request Form ♥

Please copy and paste this form in your message and send it to me with the correct information for your request. This will make it easier so I have all your details in one place :)

*How many shades do you need?
*Inside or Outside Mount?
*Do they all have the same fabric?
*Will you need a fabric repeat?
*Blackout or regular Liner?

Finished sizes of shades you need (width x length in inches) include the extra inches you want added if doing an outside mount. If doing inside mount, you may wish to subtract 1/4 inch from the exact width.

*Do you need a ribbon border/trim?
*If so, what color?
*State it will ship to?

♥ Custom Roman Shade! Labor Only ♥

2. I set up a custom listing for you and include your window measurements and details and you proofread the listing to make sure it looks ok and make the purchase via credit card or paypal.

3. You purchase liner fabric from my shop or send along with your fabric. I can add liner on to the custom order for you.

4. After you make the purchase, I send you my address to ship the fabric and liner to. PLEASE put your name on the fabric you send me and email me with a description of the fabric being sent. If you order from a store, please make sure you add your name in the notes on the shipment to me. I get so much fabric so it is confusing if there is no name on it. Thanks so much :)

You pick a fabric you love and purchase it from a store in the yardage I give you and send it to me, or I can help you choose one and include the price of fabric in your custom listing. You can purchase the liner from my shop or own your own and send it to me. All shades need a liner fabric in the back of them. See below for more info.

5. You send me an email with a description of the fabric you are sending

6. I sew your lovely shade and send it back to you :)

MY ESTIMATED SHIPMENT DATES ARE ALL FROM THE TIME I RECEIVE THE FABRIC, NOT THE TIME WHEN PURCHASE WAS MADE

♥ About My Shades ♥

These are classic, flat custom Roman Shades, unless you specify you want something different. When they are all the way down, the fabric will be flat over your window. When they are lifted up, the pleats form. My shades come with wooden dowels to allow for neater, professional looking pleats. These dowels will not be seen on your shade, as they are secured in the roman shade. The cords run through these pockets and up the back of the roman shade. I can add ribbon trim to the shade, as well, for an extra cost. When the shade is pulled all the way up, it will usually be from an 8-12 inch drop (top pleat) from top mounting position. The folds are typically 7 inches apart throughout shade. Bottom pleat is usually 9 inches. If your shade is very small, there will be less pleats, possibly only 3 if a very short window. The shades all come with a cord lock mechanism to pull shade up and down! When the shade is in the down position, there are no folds, as it is a flat roman shade. Folds are created when the shade is pulled up. All my shades have a hidden Velcro lining at the top, where it is sewn in and hidden neatly, but this will make for a simple instillation. You will be able to easily mount your head rail by pulling down the top of your shade, screwing in the mount and then pulling top of shade back up to Velcro in place (I will send instillation instructions along with your purchase.) I press my shades before I send them out, but you may also need to press them before hanging, as they do get wrinkled in transit. My Roman Shades can be made with blackout or regular liner.

♥ How to Measure your Window ♥

INSIDE MOUNT
Installed inside the window casing. This is a clean look and is nice if you have nice moldings and trim to be exposed.
If you'd like the shade to mount INSIDE your window, please provide me the exact measurement of the window, length and width (not the glass but the actual window casing against and around the glass. The shade will fit snug inside the window frame. You may wish to make the shade slightly smaller than the opening.

OUTSIDE MOUNT
Installed outside the window casing, directly on the wall or molding, providing a little more coverage and privacy. French doors are normally outside mounted. If you'd like the shade to mount on top of your window, on the window frame itself or above the frame, please measure across the exact width you will need the shade to be to cover the window completely from the position you plan to mount the shade. The finished shade needs to be larger than the window casing. Also, provide the length you'd need to be covered. Mounting the shade above the frame on the wall or on the frame itself will require more fabric since more area is covered. So please measure accordingly to assure the window is covered.

FABRIC CHOICE
Please send appropriate roman shade fabric. I prefer customers send me their own fabric, rather than me choose it, just to be certain it's exactly what the customer wants (this includes solid white shade fabric.) Most light weight linen, silk, burlap, sheer, satin, light weight fabric do not work well for roman shades, as they hang looser and do not pleat as well. If you're using linen, please make sure it is at least 7 oz in weight. Heavy weight upholstery fabric like chenille and velvet do not work as well either. I am now selling designer and high quality fabric. You can select from my in stock fabric if you'd like or send along your own for window treatments. You can also find great fabric online. Fabric.com and many other shops. Please be aware that there are certain times that I may need you to send me additional fabric, more than your original quote (ie. if they pattern repeat is too large and I can't match the shades up, or if too little fabric was sent etc.) This will be at the buyer's cost for the extra fabric needed. Standard fabric is 54 inches wide. Please make sure your fabric is this width when you make your purchase, unless your shade is 35 inches or less in width. I currently do not make shades larger than 50 inches. I will assume the fabric is sent to me in the correct yardage and width that I gave you, so there may be times I do not realize the wrong fabric was sent to me until I go to do your order.

LINER and BLACKOUT OPTION
Liner can be purchased in your local stores for cheap or I can add it on to your custom listing. All shades need some sort of liner because the dowels go inside the shade. Blackout Roman Shades will have very tiny pinholes of light shining through in the spots where the rings were sewn.

INSTALLATION
All shades come with mounting hardware and detailed instructions; you can also contact me anytime for additional help or questions.

LARGE SHADE REQUESTS
I will no longer be making shades that are over 50 inches in width. I have found that the wider shades just don't pleat as nicely and 2 smaller shades works better in place of the one giant shade.

CHILD SAFETY
All of my roman shades come with cords. I currently do not make cordless roman shades. You may wish to make sure all cords are tied off up high on a cleat, out of reach from children and pets.

Please see my other listings for custom drapes, pillows and more!! I've done many Roman Shades with matching curtains and they look really beautiful.

Thank you for checking out my shop!

XO,
Angela
